Okemo School Ski Programs 2024
An invitation from Chris Saylor of Okemo Mountain Ski School:
We're super excited here at Okemo about the upcoming winter and can't wait to have your school programs join us. We're thrilled to offer the kids in your community an awesome learning experience. The chance you're giving them to grow and learn outside the usual classroom will be a memorable part of their education. We're happy to be the place where these energetic students can have fun outdoors. The Okemo team is ready to help you and be part of the adventure!
We can't wait to see you on the slopes!- Chris Saylor
Payments: Program payments should be made by check payable to "Okemo Mountain" by November 6th. Please note that we require a single payment from each school or group—we will not accept payments from individuals. This is new this year and we are doing so to help expedite the process as a whole. All students must pay the program fee, even if they have a season pass or are Okemo employee dependents. Please make sure all payments are received before the program starts.
Please take a moment to fill out this form to update coordinator and school information.
This year's school programs are supported by Chris Saylor.
Students need to sign up for the program before it starts.

General Policies:
These programs are run by the participating schools and are sponsored by Okemo for the benefit of local students. The school coordinator is the main contact with Okemo and also connects with the school administration and parents. Parents should direct all questions to the coordinator, not directly to Okemo. The coordinator is also in charge of providing us with student and volunteer info, schedules, and payments.
Information Form: Each coordinator should submit an information form for their program by November 6th. This helps us stay in touch and ensures other departments can reach you if needed. the form will be sent out in the next update.
Release Forms: Parents or guardians need to provide a signed release form for each child to participate. This form states that Okemo/Vail Resorts isn't liable for equipment, conditions, or facilities, and allows Okemo to offer emergency services if needed. Please return the releases by December 15th.
Bus Information:
Buses can load and unload students through the arch between the A and B condominium units.
While waiting, buses should park in the main parking lots.
On Sundays, equipment can be unloaded near the snowmaking pond, but all vehicles still need to park in the main lots.
Program Dates:
Starts on Monday, January 6th and ends on Friday, February 14th.
These dates allow each school to schedule up to 6 on-snow days.
Cancellations:
Okemo may cancel any day for reasons like weather or conditions. We'll call you by 9 AM if we're canceling.
You can also cancel for any reason. If you decide to cancel, please call us by 9 AM. Also, someone from each school should call the Program Supervisor the day before if there are major changes to your roster.
Cancellations due to weather or other factors should be made before 9 AM on the program day, or the previous afternoon if severe weather is expected.
Other Notes:
Okemo may limit where the kids can ski or ride, depending on weather and snow conditions. We recommend schools also limit lift access when appropriate.
Students should always be supervised while skiing or riding.
Your main contact for the school program is Chris Saylor at cnsaylor@vailresorts.com.
Volunteers:
Please provide us with a list of community volunteers, along with their signed releases, by Friday, December 29th.
The list should show each volunteer's duty (on-snow, base lodge).
If they need rentals, it's $65 for a seasonal rental. To be included in the singular check from the school/group.
On-snow volunteers must be competent in what they plan to teach and use standard equipment and when skiing/riding in the program.
Unfortunately, Ice Skating will not be available this year.
